Der Chris Isaak-Klassiker im Deep House-Gewand – 2*, gehört im Original Mix… |

Weeeeer zon deep house plaat, het is wel de tijd ervoor. Techno is de nieuwe hype dus waarom niet meeliften erop?. Anyway, kvin dees minder spannend ala vandaag en ein tag am strand. Lijkt ook beetje op so good tome<br><br>Edit: topplaat beste deephouse ever

▒ Geweldig zangwerk van "Anna Naklab" op de cover van "Chris Isaak" (1989) !!! Vond het origineel nooit zo denderend om heel eerlijk te zijn !!! Deze moderne zaterdagavond dansversie van "Parra For Cuva" bracht daar een beetje verandering in, eind juli 2013 ☺!!! |

Kijk als je dan een cover maakt van een goed nummer, moet je op zijn minst zorgen dat de zang goed is en dat is in dit geval prima in orde. Leuke remake. |

Es hat natürlich insofern ein unangenehmes Moment, als dass hier ein Klassiker der Musikgeschichte durchgenudelt wird, ohne ihm wirklich neuen Charakter zu geben. Aber davon abgesehen ist das doch wirklich solide gemachte Musik, bei der es nicht viel zu kritisieren gibt. Geht also in Ordnung, ohne zu begeistern.<br><br>Knappe 4. |

I do like the arrangement of this and due to familiarity I prefer this version to the original. It's just so pleasant to listen to, especially with the deep house beats and the chill vocal. Big thumbs up for the steel drums at the end. Not as good as other deep house tracks but I'm pleased at it becoming a hit in Australia and charting better than expected.

haha, whose idea was it to get a remake of "Bump N Grind" & a remake of "Wicked Game" in the charts at the same time? Kimbra?<br><br>I think I appreciate this as a cover for not falling back on just appealing for what the original does. In that case, Isaak's falsetto really lets the track soar, but here, the vocals feel like more of an afterthought. Instead though, we get much more concentrated beat re-creation. Considering the original song is mostly acoustic guitars, it's impressive how many layers they manage to simultaneously fish with here. It's warm, intimate & intricate. Also something that deserves recognition is the way they fit a proper build up into a song that never had one. The steel drums towards the end not only sound good, but they lead to a moment of satisfaction when the tension release finally comes at the end.<br><br>I'm not sure how I feel about it outpeaking "Wicked Game" in Australia, but it's at least a cover that has a use. 4.0 |
